DR NICK LOWE PIONEERS RESEARCH COMPARING TWO TOXINS FOR WRINKLE REDUCTION
Until now Botox ™ was the only approved botulinum toxin A for improving facial lines in Europe and in the USA. Now Dysport, an alternative to Botox, (which will be known as Azzalure® in the UK and Reloxin in the USA), has received approval for the treatment of similar upper facial lines.
Dr Lowe and his research group have carried out extensive dermatological research specifically with regard to Botox and Dysport when used for facial lines. He has researched Botox and Dysport for nearly 20 years, but exciting findings as a result of recent studies have clearly defined the differences between the two toxins and how they are best used.
It is important to note that Botox and Dysport are produced by different methods and should therefore be considered different drugs, not generic variations. Dr Lowe has found, contrary to some suggestions, that the two can be used interchangeably and in combination with numerous other treatments including skincare creams, intense pulsed light, rejuvenating lasers and skin fillers. They are also both extremely safe when used for facial lines by expert specialist physicians. With these options and treatment variations your choice of specialist physician becomes even more important.

The above insights were presented at the recent American Academy of Dermatology and the British Cosmetic Dermatology Annual meetings, and were independent of the pharmaceutical companies.
